Hello! I’m Virgina Fitz-Allen, a proud housewife residing in the serene Mission village of Barima-Waini, Guyana. As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often reflect on the changes our homeland has witnessed over the decades. It’s disheartening to hear about the challenges visitors face, particularly in Georgetown, but I remain hopeful for a brighter future. The warmth of our people and the diversity of our cultures—whether it’s enjoying a plate of chowmein from a local Chinese eatery or savoring the spices of an Indo-Guyanese dish—continue to inspire my connection to both home and those who have migrated abroad.
