My family has deep Guyanese roots, tracing back to the indentured laborers who arrived from various corners of the world. I often reminisce about the stories shared at family gatherings, particularly those of my ancestors who settled in Borada and Paripi. The bonds forged in our communities are like the delicious meals we share; they're crafted with care and carry the essence of our heritage. Even though some may debate our Caribbean identity, I wholeheartedly recognize the connections we share with the Caribbean culture, holding dear our unique position on the South American coast.
