Hello! My name is Franklyn Beaton, and I proudly call Guyana my home. Our culinary delights, such as pepperpot and cook-up rice, are reflections of our mixed heritage, bringing flavors from our Indigenous, African, Indian, and European roots. I often reminisce about the days spent at the National Park or enjoying a Sunday cookout with family and friends, celebrating festivals like Mashramani, which truly encapsulates our spirit of unity and joy.
Though many may think of Guyana as a hidden gem, I believe our presence in the Caribbean is undeniable. As a member of CARICOM, we embrace our Caribbean identity while staying connected with our diaspora and celebrating our unique history. Whether I'm sharing stories about our cultural festivals or talking about life in Georgetown, I take pride in being a Guyanese and look forward to bridging connections with others who cherish our beautiful homeland.
