Hello! I’m Ganesh Deolall, a proud labourer residing along the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically on the Pomeroon-Supenaam. This region, with its lush landscapes and vibrant rivers, holds a special place in my heart. Growing up near the winding Pomeroon River, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our local culture, from the rich flavors of cook-up rice to the sweet taste of fresh pineapples from the nearby farms. The community spirit here is strong, and I love sharing stories and experiences with my neighbors, especially during traditional festivities.
As someone who hails from the Woodland Settlement area, I’ve witnessed the resilience and determination of our people firsthand. Whether it’s working together to maintain our paths or gathering for the annual Ol' Time Boat Race, these moments reflect our unity and pride. My roots run deep in this land, and I often reminisce about the days spent fishing at Labba Creek or enjoying the serene views from River Grant. Our culture is rich with traditions, and I cherish every opportunity to celebrate them, particularly as I connect with family and friends both locally and in the diaspora.
