Hello! I’m Ganesh Narine, a proud resident of the vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically from the Pomona Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this beautiful region, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing the rich cultural tapestry of Guyana, from the lively sounds of our local music to the mouthwatering flavors of dishes like pepperpot and roti. Whether it's the lush greenery of our landscape or the warmth of our people, I always find a reason to celebrate my roots.
Living in Guyana, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges our community faces, especially regarding the economic struggles many of us endure while the cost of living rises. Yet, these obstacles have only strengthened our resilience and unity as a people. I believe in the power of community, and I strive to connect with others, whether they are in Linden or far off in the diaspora, to share our experiences and uplift one another.
As I continue my journey here in Essequibo, my hope is to foster conversations that recognize our rich history and engage with those abroad who carry a piece of Guyana in their hearts.
