Hello! My name is Ganeshwar Persaud, and I am a proud farmer from the beautiful Coast of East Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Known for its lush landscapes and vibrant communities, my home is a place where the land tells its own story through the crops we cultivate. Farming has been my lifelong passion, and I take great pride in contributing to the local economy while preserving our rich agricultural traditions. The bountiful produce from our farms reflects the diversity and resilience of our people, much like the unique flavors of our beloved pepperpot.
Growing up here, the spirit of community is woven into everything we do. From sharing hearty meals at the local church to exchanging tales of the past, we celebrate our heritage and support one another. I often reminisce about the days when my family and I would gather around the table to enjoy a dish of roti and curry, a beloved staple that warms the heart and brings everyone together. Even as many of our friends and family have moved abroad, the ties to our homeland remain strong, and I cherish the updates from the diaspora who still share a love for Guyana’s culture and cuisine.
Through my work and daily life, I strive to honor our history and culture, while also looking towards a future that embraces progress. Whether it’s engaging in sustainable farming practices or sharing stories with fellow Guyanese, I am committed to making a positive impact in my community.
