Greetings! I’m Ganga Persaud, a proud cane harvester from the lush lands of East Bank Essequibo, specifically from Zeelugt in Pomeroon-Supenaam. With years of experience working in the sugar cane industry, I have a deep respect for the agricultural traditions that sustain our communities and shape our vibrant culture. When I’m not in the fields, you can find me enjoying a plate of pepper pot or a hearty serving of cook-up rice with my family, reminding me of our rich culinary heritage that is a blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences.
