Hello! My name is Gavin Henson, and I proudly call Coast 12 Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a carpenter, I have dedicated my craft to building not just structures but also memories, drawing inspiration from the vibrant communities around me. Growing up near the Lower Pomeroon River, I have always been surrounded by the natural beauty of Guyana, which deeply influences my work and my life. The warmth of the people, the aroma of cook-up rice and dhal puri wafting through the air, and the laughter echoing from gatherings reflect the essence of our culture.
My roots run deep in this land, and I cherish the stories passed down from generations, whether it's tales of fishing trips on the Pomeroon or the festive celebrations during Mashramani. For me, being part of the Guyanese diaspora means carrying these stories with pride, connecting with fellow countrymen abroad, and sharing our unique traditions. From enjoying a good plate of pepperpot to discussing the latest news from back home, I find joy in the communal spirit that binds us all, regardless of where we are in the world.
