Nestled within the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I find joy in the simplicity and richness of my surroundings. When I’m not working in the community, you can often find me savoring a warm bowl of pepper pot, a dish that never fails to remind me of our cultural heritage. The combination of spices and flavors truly encapsulates the essence of Guyanese cooking, and I always enjoy sharing it with friends and family, especially when paired with fresh bread.
As a resident of Essequibo, I have a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that defines our region. From the scenic rivers to the lush greenery, it’s a reminder of why we often refer to Guyana as "the land of many waters." I believe that our unique geographical position, situated just outside the Caribbean Sea, provides us with a distinct identity, allowing us to embrace our roots while also connecting with our Caribbean neighbors. Events like Mashramani are close to my heart, as they bring us all together to celebrate our diverse cultures and histories.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora has enriched my understanding of our community's global footprint.
