Hello! My name is Beverly George, and I proudly call Mission in the beautiful Barima-Waini region of Guyana my home. As a farmer, I find joy in cultivating the rich land that has sustained generations of my family. The lush greenery of our local farms, complemented by the essence of fresh cassava and plantains, inspires my passion for agriculture. Every day, I strive to contribute to the vibrant local market, ensuring that the community enjoys not just food, but a taste of our culture.
Living close to the Pomeroon River, I often reflect on how this river serves as a lifeline for so many of us. It echoes tales of our ancestors and provides sustenance and connection to the land. I cherish the moments spent on its banks with friends and family, sharing meals of pepperpot and roti, and reliving stories of legendary boxers like Randolph Turpin, whose feats remind us of our rich sporting heritage. These moments make living in Guyana truly special.
