Welcome! My name is George Younge, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the winding banks of the Pomeroon River, my community is rich with stories and flavors that reflect the diverse culture of Guyana. From the warm, inviting aroma of pepperpot simmering in the kitchen to the vibrant celebrations of our festivals, every day here is a testament to the resilience and spirit of our people. When I’m not enjoying a plate of our iconic dishes, you'll often find me sharing tales of our beautiful landscapes—from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the lush greenery of our coastal mangroves.
Living in Guyana, I’m deeply aware of the challenges we face, as many are feeling the pressure of rising costs and changing times. However, our heritage remains a source of pride and strength. The camaraderie within our communities, especially among those of us in the diaspora, reminds me of our roots and the journeys we’ve taken. Whether it’s a chat with friends along Liberty Avenue in Queens or reminiscing about our childhoods in Linden, the connection to our homeland is everlasting.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
