Hello! I’m Geresh Singh, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically the vibrant community of Cotton Field Anna in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich culture of Guyana has shaped my identity and values. I cherish the beauty of our country, from the serene banks of the Pomeroon River to the bustling markets where you can find the best eggballs and snowcones drizzled with condensed milk – a true taste of home!
As someone deeply rooted in my community, I often reflect on the challenges our nation faces, such as the need for better governance and waste management. Yet, I remain hopeful for the young people of Guyana, who deserve a bright future filled with opportunities. Conversations with fellow Guyanese both at home and in the diaspora often highlight our shared experiences and aspirations, reinforcing the bond we have, no matter where we are in the world. We may differ in our views on whether we’re part of North or South America, but we all agree: we are proudly Guyanese.
