Hello! My name is Gewantie Kawallram, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home. As a nurse, I am dedicated to serving my community and ensuring the health and well-being of those around me. Nestled in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I find joy not only in my profession but in the vibrant culture and rich traditions of our beautiful country.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been fortunate to savor the flavors of our local cuisine—nothing beats a plate of pepperpot or a good roti from the veggie Caps! Whether it’s enjoying a meal with family or sharing stories with friends, I cherish the connection to our roots that these experiences bring. I also love exploring the natural beauty around us, from the serene banks of the River Asakabora to the lush landscapes of River Lonely Island Akawini.
Living in the diaspora, I feel a strong bond with fellow Guyanese, no matter where they are. I love hearing about their experiences and how they connect back to our homeland, especially as we navigate the challenges and triumphs together.
