Greetings! My name is Ghanesh Rajkumar, and I proudly call Bank Essequibo, located in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and majestic waterways, I have developed a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage that defines Guyana. From the sweet aroma of cook-up rice wafting through local markets to the lively beats of our traditional music during Mashramani celebrations, my life here is a celebration of our unique blend of Indigenous, Afro-Guyanese, and Indo-Guyanese traditions.
As a resident of this beautiful country, I often engage in discussions about Guyana’s past and present, including the challenges we face, such as those arising from our complex territorial history and the socio-economic hurdles we continue to navigate. It's essential to understand the historical context that has shaped our nation, including the impact of past leadership decisions on trade and development.
