Greetings! My name is Glenis Cameron, and I am honored to serve as a pastor in the vibrant community of Cecelia Essequibo Coast. Nestled along the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, this area is rich in cultural heritage and has a warmth that is truly unique. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and the sweet sounds of our local music, from steel pan to calypso, I have always felt a deep connection to my Guyanese roots.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish the diverse flavors of our cuisine, from the savory pepperpot to the beloved cook-up rice that brings families together, especially during festive gatherings. My work as a pastor allows me to not only guide my congregation spiritually but also foster a sense of community and support among our members. I believe that the strength of our diaspora is reflected in our shared experiences, whether it’s reminiscing about home or celebrating our identity as Caribbean people.
In my role, I strive to uplift those around me, creating a space where everyone feels welcomed and valued. With my heart firmly rooted in this rich soil of culture and connection, I hope to inspire others to embrace their heritage and carry forward the spirit of unity that defines us as Guyanese, from the bustling streets of Georgetown to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
