My days are spent working the fertile lands that our ancestors cultivated, growing an array of crops that reflect the vibrant agricultural heritage of Guyana. Whether it’s the sweet taste of ripe mangoes or the richness of our local rice, my connection to the earth is deep-rooted and vital to my identity.
Living in the heart of Guyana, I find joy in the simple pleasures — sharing meals with family and friends, where dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice take center stage, reminding us of our rich cultural history. I often reminisce about the unforgettable gatherings at the River Grant, where laughter and stories flow just like the waters of our beloved Essequibo River. Though I am deeply grounded in my local roots, I remain connected to the global Guyanese community. I take pride in sharing our culture, from Hindu festivals that illuminate our hearts to the rich tapestry of languages spoken across our nation. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
