Greetings! My name is Gopaul Sancharie, and I proudly hail from the vibrant and lush region of Pomeroon-Supenaam in Guyana. As a dedicated farmer, I nurture the land that has been my family's home for generations. The fertile soils here, enriched by the mighty Pomeroon River, allow me to cultivate a variety of crops, from rice to the beloved cassava, which is a staple in our local cuisine. There's nothing quite like a warm bowl of mealy meal or a plate of golden fried plantains, especially during the lively gatherings of our community.
Living in Pomeroon, I am surrounded by the rich history and diverse cultures that make Guyana unique. From the stunning landscapes of the Essequibo coast to the vibrant markets in Suddie, where you can find everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts, every corner of our land tells a story. I take pride in sharing these experiences with my fellow Guyanese, both here and in the diaspora, as we celebrate our heritage through music, dance, and the delicious flavors of our traditional dishes.
