Hello! My name is Guin Peters, and I proudly call Essequibo 25 Sideline Dam home in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. As a dedicated labourer, I embody the hardworking spirit of our community, where every day presents an opportunity to contribute to the vibrant life of our nation. Guyana is rich in resources, and I believe that with strong governance and collective effort, we can harness our potential for growth and development.
I have a deep affection for our local culture, especially during Mashramani, when the air fills with the sounds of music and the streets come alive with parades celebrating our diversity. Nothing beats enjoying a plate of delicious cook-up rice, fresh from the pot, while sharing stories with friends and family. Whether you’re by the Pomeroon River or enjoying the lush landscapes, the warmth of our people and the beauty of our land always leave a lasting impression.
Though I’ve spent years working in Guyana, I cherish the connections we have with our diaspora. Many of us, like myself, may have ventured far from home, yet we carry the essence of our culture with us, whether it's through the taste of our beloved Marmite or memories of joyous gatherings. Together, we celebrate the unique spirit of Guyana and continue to build a future filled with promise.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
