Welcome! My name is Hamawattie Hasnoo, and I proudly call Essequibo 47 Tiger Bay Tushen in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of this area has shaped my appreciation for our rich cultural heritage. From the delicious flavors of our local cuisine to the warmth of our people, Guyana is a place where every corner tells a story, and I invite you to explore these narratives with me.
As a resident deeply connected to my roots, I find joy in sharing the culinary delights of my homeland, whether it's savoring a plate of pepperpot during the festive season or enjoying a simple but hearty bowl of cook-up rice. It warms my heart to see the diaspora embrace these flavors, often reminiscing about their childhood in our homeland, like the comments I've seen celebrating our food: "my mouth is watering" for those scrumptious dishes we all love!
