Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Hamraj Talgit, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Living along the vibrant 45 Public Road in New Road, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am deeply rooted in the rich culture and traditions that define Guyana. From the flavorful dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice that bring families together, to the natural beauty of our landscapes, I cherish every aspect of life here. I often find myself reminiscing about the stories shared at large family gatherings, where laughter and love fill the air.
As a resident of this beautiful country, I take great pride in the resilience of our people, especially in light of the changing economic landscape with new oil prospects. It’s a time of hope for many Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora. I know that the experiences of those who have left, bringing their stories and culture to places like Queens’ "Little Guyana," are just as integral to our identity.
