Greetings! I'm Hanesa Tirbhowan, a proud resident of Coast 10 Public Road in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up here, I've been fortunate to immerse myself in our rich cultural heritage, where the aroma of curry and roti fills the air and the sounds of steelpan music resonate during festivals. Our community is a vibrant blend of influences, celebrating everything from Diwali to Mashramani, which reflect our diverse ancestry and shared history. I've always felt a deep connection to our landscapes, from the lush green banks of the Pomeroon River to the bustling markets where you can find fresh produce and local delicacies.
As a proud descendant of those who have shaped our land, I believe in the importance of staying connected with our diaspora. Whether it’s sharing stories with friends abroad or inviting them to experience our culinary delights, like pepperpot and metemgee, I cherish the bonds we create through our shared history. Just like many Guyanese, I resonate with the experiences of those who have made their way to different corners of the globe, from the Caribbean to places as distant as Fiji. We may have different homes now, but our roots and traditions keep us united.
