About HANIFF KHAN

About Haniff Khan

Hello! I’m Haniff Khan, a carpenter based in the vibrant community of West Coast Demerara. Nestled at 40 Brickwall Street, my workshop is a hub where tradition meets craftsmanship. Growing up in this beautiful region, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich sounds of the Essequibo River and the aroma of our beloved cook-up rice, which reminds me of the warmth and resilience of our people.

As a proud Guyanese, I deeply value the connections we have with our homeland. Whether it’s sharing a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or gathering at the local markets, these moments reflect our culture and strengthen our bonds, both at home and within the diaspora. I often reminisce about the days spent exploring the Pomeroon River and discovering the beauty of Macrapana Island, which have inspired much of my work.

Through my carpentry, I strive to bring a piece of Guyana to every project, blending functionality with the essence of our heritage. I believe in the craftsmanship of our ancestors and aim to honor it by creating pieces that not only serve a purpose but also tell a story. Join me on this journey as I continue to contribute to our community and celebrate the spirit of Guyana, one wooden creation at a time.
