Growing up in Guyana, I have fond memories of family gatherings filled with laughter, music, and of course, delicious food. Who can forget the first time trying Dahl pury? The crispy texture paired with curry chicken was an unforgettable experience for me, and it truly represents the heart of Guyanese cuisine. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of fried rice and chow mein or sharing stories over a bowl of callaloo (or as some may call it, bahgi), the flavors of our culture connect us deeply, even when we find ourselves far from home.
