About JAMES HENRY

About James Henry

Greetings! My name is James Henry, and I proudly call Baramita, Barima-Waini, my home. As a farmer, I find joy in cultivating the rich lands of Guyana, where the soil is as vibrant as our culture. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and the rhythmic sounds of nature has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the environment and our agricultural heritage. In my community, we often gather to share stories, laughter, and plates of our traditional Pepperpot, a dish that brings everyone together, especially during festive seasons.

Living in Baramita provides me with a unique perspective on the local life that many in the diaspora appreciate. I understand the mixed feelings of those who have left for opportunities abroad, yet still hold fond memories of the Essequibo Coast and the simple beauty of life here. While conversations about the challenges we face, like the need for better infrastructure in our capital, resonate with me, I remain hopeful about the future of our country, especially with the potential that comes from our oil-rich resources.

As a proud Guyanese, I cherish the connections we maintain with our diaspora. Whether it’s in the bustling streets of Georgetown or the serene villages where we’ve originated, the warmth of our community is always felt. I invite you to share in our journey, celebrate our culture, and perhaps join us for a hearty meal of Pepperpot, where every bite tells a story of tradition, resilience, and unity.
