About STEVE HENRY

About Steve Henry

Greetings from Baramita, nestled in the lush landscapes of Barima-Waini! My name is Steve Henry, and I take pride in being a farmer in this vibrant community. Here in Guyana, we are known for our rich agricultural heritage, cultivating everything from cassava to rice, and I feel a deep connection to the land that nourishes both our bodies and our culture. As a farmer, I embrace the rhythms of nature, always striving to contribute to our local economy and ensure that my family and community thrive.

Guyana’s cultural diversity is one of its greatest strengths, and I am proud to be part of a society that celebrates its heritage. From the savory delights of pepperpot and metemgee to the vibrant festivities of Mashramani, our traditions are a reflection of our resilience and creativity. My dreams for our community stretch as far as the new Demerara Harbor Bridge, which I believe will bring much-needed development and opportunities for future generations. Like many of my fellow Guyanese, I share a hope that our leadership will harness our resources wisely and uplift our people.

As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we've built around the world, whether it's through shared stories or the warmth of our dishes. We may face challenges, but the spirit of our people shines brightly, and I remain optimistic about the future. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey. Together, let’s continue to uplift and support each other, both at home and abroad.
