Hello! I’m Hera Tribhowan, a proud resident of the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region in Guyana, specifically from the 04 Phoenix Leguan area. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and the rich cultural heritage of our country, I've developed a deep appreciation for the unique blend of traditions that define our Guyanese identity. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty meal of cook-up rice with pork, just like my grandma used to make, or sharing stories about the beauty of St. Monica and the Upper Pom River, my roots run deep in this land.
Living in such a diverse community, I often find myself reflecting on the connections that tie us not only to our homeland but also to our brothers and sisters in the diaspora. Like many, I feel the resonance of our shared history—just as some have mentioned, Guyana and Ghana reflect a kinship across continents. This connection reminds me of the strength of our women, as highlighted by artists like Black Sherif, who embrace and celebrate our culture in their work.
