Welcome! My name is Hermattie Munmohanalal, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the Pomeroon River, my community is a vibrant mix of cultures, where the sweet scent of ripe mangoes from Upper Pom River Mango Landing fills the air. As a devoted housewife, I cherish the simple joys of life here, from preparing traditional dishes like cook-up rice and pepperpot to sharing stories with neighbors on the warm evenings by the riverbank.
My heart is deeply rooted in the essence of Guyanese life; whether it's a visit to the bustling markets of Georgetown or the serene beauty of Karawab Mission, every experience enriches my connection to this land. I often reminisce about my childhood adventures along the Pomeroon River and the friendships forged through shared laughter and festive celebrations. Though the challenges facing our communities are real, the resilience and spirit of my fellow Guyanese inspire me every day.
As a member of the diaspora community, I understand the longing for home many of us feel while living abroad.
