Hello! I’m Ian Naughton, a proud labourer hailing from the vibrant community of Pom. River Grant Vanilla Lower in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Here, life is enriched by the lush landscapes and rich traditions that define our culture. Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I have developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us and the significance of community. From the camaraderie shared during the annual festivals to the warmth of family gatherings over a plate of pepperpot, these experiences shape my identity. As someone who values the spirit of togetherness, I often reminisce about the stories shared with my neighbors, like Lloyd from Myrie Island, who brings life to our fishing tales.
Currently, I’m working hard to support my family while also staying connected with the Guyanese diaspora, sharing our culture and traditions with those who have ventured abroad. Wherever life takes me, my roots will always be anchored in the rich heritage of Guyana, and I hope to bring a piece of that warmth and authenticity wherever I go.
