Hello! My name is Ignatius Fredericks, a proud pastor residing in the tranquil Coast 17 Richmond Lima Sands area of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich culture of Guyana, I have deep ties to this beautiful land. Whether it's the vibrant markets in Bartica or the serene banks of the Lower Pomeroon River, each corner of my home holds a special place in my heart. The aroma of pepperpot and the warmth of a good bake and shark are not just memories, but part of my daily life.
As I serve my community, I hold close the values and traditions that have been passed down through generations. The spirit of camaraderie among the people here is palpable, whether we are celebrating Mashramani or gathering to share stories of our ancestors. Though I now connect with many of my fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, I strive to keep our culture alive by sharing our experiences and joys, from the pronunciation of our unique place names to the ongoing conversations about our identity as one of the only South American nations where English is the official language.
Through my ministry, I aim to foster unity and understanding, both locally and abroad. I believe in the potential of our community and the importance of maintaining our connections, even when we are miles apart. Let's celebrate our roots and continue to uplift each other, no matter where life takes us. After all, as we say in Guyana, "We love Guyana!"
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
