Growing up in Guyana, I developed a deep appreciation for our diverse traditions, blending Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences. The stories of my ancestors resonate with me, and I cherish the communal spirit fostered during celebrations like Mashramani and Diwali. Despite some critiques about our capital, Georgetown, I see it as a city with potential—a place where the vibrant mix of cultures comes alive. The warmth of the people here, though sometimes overshadowed by challenges, is something I hold dear to my heart.
