Welcome! I’m Inderia Persaud, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, living at the Golden Fleece Estate in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region. With roots deeply embedded in the rich culture of Guyana, I cherish our diverse heritage that beautifully blends elements from our Indigenous, African, and Indian communities. Growing up in a land where the lush green landscapes are punctuated by the sweet aroma of fresh spices and the lively sounds of festivals, I have always found joy in the simple pleasures of life—like sharing a plate of pepperpot or curry with family and friends.
Guyana is a unique place, a nation that holds both beauty and challenges. There’s no denying that we face issues—our infrastructure needs improvement, and the realities of daily life can be difficult. However, I believe in the potential of my homeland. I’ve seen how our diaspora, from New York's food capital to across the globe, continues to celebrate our culture and connect back to our roots. The warmth of Guyanese hospitality can’t be matched, and no matter where we go, we carry the spirit of our homeland with us, advocating for change and growth.
