Greetings! My name is Indira Mangar, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled between the lush landscapes and flowing rivers of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my life is deeply intertwined with the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Guyana. Whether it’s enjoying a warm plate of pepperpot on Christmas morning or sharing stories with family along the banks of the Pomeroon River, these moments fuel my love for our land and its people.
However, like many of us, I am acutely aware of the challenges we face. The struggles of our youth, the corruption that plagues our governance, and the need for effective waste management weigh heavily on my heart. I have seen firsthand how these issues can overshadow our beautiful country, leaving the younger generations grappling with uncertainty. Yet, amidst these challenges, I remain hopeful that together we can cultivate a better future, one that honors our rich heritage and nurtures the connection we have with our environment.
