Welcome! My name is Inez Thakurdin, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the vibrant community of Hampton Court Anna, I draw inspiration from the lush landscapes and the rich cultural heritage that surrounds me. Growing up in Guyana, I cherish the warmth of our people and the blend of cultures that define our nation—from the savory flavors of pepperpot to the sweet taste of our famous guava jelly. Each dish tells a story, just like every person I meet.
As a resident of this beautiful region, I am deeply connected to the Pomeroon River, where childhood memories of fishing and family gatherings come alive. Our rivers and land are not just geographical landmarks; they are part of our identity and history, holding the essence of our community. I often reflect on the unique experiences of our diaspora, like those who share their stories from afar, whether it be a fond memory of “River Two Friends Koria” or tales of resilience from places like Botswana.
