Nestled along the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, my home at Coast 194, Cave Street, is a stone's throw from the rich cultural heritage that defines our community. Growing up here, I’ve been surrounded by the warm hospitality of my neighbors and the aromatic scent of traditional dishes like cook-up rice and bakes, which bring families together, especially during special celebrations.
As someone deeply connected to my roots, I embrace the local customs, from lively Mango Festivals to the rhythmic sounds of chutney music. I often reminisce about the days spent exploring the lush landscapes of the Lower Pomeroon and the joy of fishing in the river, which has always been a significant part of our lifestyle. Being a part of the Guyanese diaspora, I find joy in sharing our culture and cuisine, keeping the spirit of our homeland alive wherever I go.
