Hello! I’m Israel Thornhill, a proud barber hailing from the cozy community of Creek Upper Pom. River Grant in Capetown, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant landscapes and rich traditions of Guyana, I’ve always been inspired by the warmth of our people and the diverse cultures that enrich our lives. Whether it’s sharing a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or recounting stories of our ancestors in the shadow of the iconic St. George’s Cathedral, I carry my heritage with pride.
As a barber, I believe in the power of community and connection. I cherish my role in bringing a bit of that Guyanese spirit to life, especially for those in the diaspora who reminisce about home. Having left Georgetown in 1983 for the UK, I’ve witnessed many changes in our beloved country, and I strive to stay connected with the developments back home.
