Hello! I’m Jacquin Wilson, a dedicated miner residing along the Coast 04 Public Road in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of my homeland, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the natural resources we cherish and share. From the flowing waters of the Pomeroon River to the rich flavors of our local dishes, like pepperpot and metemgee, every aspect of Guyanese life is a part of who I am.
In my community, we often gather for traditional celebrations, where you might catch me double dipping with friends and family, sharing good food and laughter. Whether it’s a cricket match down by Grant Covent Garden or a festive gathering along the River Massarie Island, these moments remind me of the strong bonds we share as a people. As a miner, I’ve learned the value of hard work and community, always striving to contribute positively to the lives of those around me.
As a proud Guyanese, I hold a special connection to our diaspora. It’s heartening to see friends and family spread across the globe, yet still united by our heritage. I believe that our stories, from the Karawab Upper to the River Kamadankoro Koria, weave a narrative of resilience and pride.
