Hello! I’m Jagdeo Ramnarine, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo, nestled in the serene Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of this beautiful country, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our local traditions, from the rich flavors of cook-up rice and pepperpot to the lively celebrations of Mashramani. Our culture, often described as the least known English-speaking culture globally, has so much to offer. I sometimes find myself laughing at misconceptions people have about Guyana—like the time someone remarking, “Paid to make the video 😂 you’re talking rubbish,” made me appreciate our rich stories even more! From discussing the latest challenges we face to celebrating our achievements, every conversation is a reminder of our shared heritage.
