Hello! My name is Jairam Seelochan, and I'm a proud carpenter based in the heart of Demerara. Growing up surrounded by the rich diversity of Guyana, I've always appreciated our vibrant culture, which is a blend of six races: Amerindian, African, Chinese, Portuguese, East Indian, and European. This cultural mosaic is reflected in our delicious cuisine, from pepperpot to roti, and even the sweet treats like guava cheese that bring back fond memories of my childhood.
Though Georgetown may have its challenges, I find inspiration in the beauty of our natural landscapes, like the Pomeroon River and the lush greenery that surrounds us. It’s a reminder of why I feel so proud of my country, and I carry that pride into my work.
