About JAMES ANTHONY MUNROE

About James Munroe

Hello! My name is James Munroe, a proud resident of Bank Demerara, nestled in the vibrant West Bank of Essequibo Islands-West Demerara. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultures of Guyana has shaped my identity. From the bustling markets of Parika to the tranquil banks of the Essequibo River, every corner of my community tells a story. I find joy in sharing the flavors of our local cuisine—nothing beats a plate of duck curry paired with freshly made roti, although sometimes I think the prices can be a bit steep!

As a Guyanese, I cherish the diversity of our people and the warmth that comes with it. Whether it's the spirited conversations over a glass of homemade local juice or the lively gatherings celebrating our festivals, there’s always a sense of belonging. I actively connect with our diaspora community, and it’s heartening to hear feedback like, “thanks for speaking the truth,” which inspires me to share our unique culture with the world. I love creating content that highlights our beautiful landscapes and unfiltered experiences, even if some might say, “stop pronouncing the words wrong!”

My roots run deep in this land, and I take pride in showcasing the hidden gems of our country. From the iconic River New Canal Landing St. to the lush greenery of the Upper Pomeroon River, every place has its own significance. I believe that by sharing our stories and traditions, we can keep the spirit of Guyana alive, no matter where we are. Join me on this journey of exploration as we celebrate our heritage together!
