Hello! My name is Gleary James, and I proudly call Ianna in the Barima-Waini region of Guyana my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant rivers of this beautiful land, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. From the rhythmic sounds of our folk music to the tantalizing flavors of local dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, I am truly grateful to be part of such a diverse community that reflects the essence of our indigenous, African, and Indian roots.
Having spent time connecting with fellow Guyanese both at home and in the diaspora, I understand the importance of our shared stories. Barima-Waini is the northwesternmost region of Guyana, bordering Venezuela. Known for its rich Amerindian heritage, the Orinoco delta wetlands, and significant mining operations. Population center is Mabaruma.
