Hello! I'm Mark Jascintho, a proud miner from Baramita in the beautiful Barima-Waini region of Guyana. My heart belongs to this incredible land filled with rich biodiversity, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene beauty of the Rupununi savannahs. Each day, I dig deep not just for minerals, but to connect with the spirit of my ancestors who toiled here before me. The vibrant culture, influenced by the first nationals, Africans, East Indians, and British, is reflected in our daily lives and, of course, our delicious culinary traditions.
When I'm not working, you can find me enjoying the simple pleasures of life in Baramita—whether it's savoring a plate of pepperpot or sharing stories with friends as we sip on some mauby. The people here are incredibly welcoming, embodying the warmth and kindness that make our community so special. I take pride in our Guyanese identity, often expressing it through lively conversations about our shared experiences and the unique flavors that define our cuisine.
