Hello! I’m Jean Scott, a proud resident of Henrietta Housing on the Essequibo Coast in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of this area, I cherish the rich culture and traditions that define our way of life. From enjoying freshly caught fish at the local markets to savoring the flavors of a warm plate of cook-up rice, every moment here feels like a celebration of our unique heritage.
Living in a community that feels like family, I often find myself reminiscing about the stories that connect us all—whether it's gathering under the palm trees while listening to the tales of Upper Pom or sharing laughter at the local gatherings. I believe it's the warmth of our people and the spirit of resilience that truly makes Guyana special. Though many of my friends and family have ventured into the diaspora, we remain bonded by our shared roots and the hope of one day bringing our stories back home, whether it’s through a visit or even settling back among the familiar sights of Cashew Hill.
