Hello! I’m Jeetendra Ramrattan, a proud farmer from the lush Essequibo River region in Berribissiballi, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where every sunrise brings the promise of new crops and the sweet aroma of fresh coconut and cassava fills the air. I have dedicated my life to sustainable farming, preserving the rich traditions of our ancestors while also embracing modern practices that ensure our community thrives.
Growing up here, I’ve witnessed the beauty and resilience of our people, whether it’s gathering for a Sunday cook-up of pepperpot with family or sharing stories under the shade of the mangroves. My heart feels at home in the rhythms of the Pomeroon River, where fishing and farming intermingle, echoing the rich heritage of my fellow Guyanese. I often think of those in the diaspora, like my friends from Albouystown and beyond, who carry a piece of Guyana with them wherever life takes them.
