Hello! I’m Jeff Kamta, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast in Golden Fleece, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of my homeland, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage, which is influenced by diverse communities, including Indigenous, African, Indian, and Portuguese traditions. There's nothing like enjoying a plate of pepperpot or roti, and I often reminisce about the warmth of home-cooked meals shared with family and friends.
Throughout my life, I've had the pleasure of witnessing the beauty of our landscapes, from the serene rivers to the iconic Kaieteur Falls. Despite the challenges that our country faces, I find immense joy in our communal spirit and resilience. I often engage with the diaspora community, hearing stories from fellow Guyanese around the world who share their experiences and love for our culture. It fills me with pride to see so many people, like my fellow Guyanese and friends from Trinidad, celebrating our music and culinary delights—whether it’s the infectious rhythms of Sonny Mann or the comforting taste of our local dishes.
As I continue my journey here in Essequibo, I remain committed to promoting the beauty and unique aspects of Guyana. I enjoy connecting with others, whether they’re from nearby or far away, and I cherish the stories that bind us as Guyanese.
