Hello! I’m Jemina James, a proud resident of River Parika Island in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Nestled along the banks of the Pomeroon River, our island is a vibrant community that celebrates our rich culture and heritage. From the laughter shared over a plate of curry with roti—''YOU WAS SUPPOSE TO EAT THE ROTI WITH CURRY!!!!''—to the lively conversations about our countryside, such as Berbice and Rupununi, I cherish every moment spent in this diverse landscape.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often find myself reflecting on the warmth and resilience of our people. While some may express skepticism about our nation's progress, I believe in the potential of our land and its transformation. Whether it’s through our traditional practices or the modern advancements brought by our oil industry, I know that the true essence of Guyana lies in the spirit of its community.
