About JENNEY JOHN

About Jenney John

Greetings! My name is Jenney John, and I proudly call Lodge Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my life revolves around the vibrant rhythms of Guyanese culture. As a devoted housewife, I cherish the opportunity to nurture my family and create a warm, welcoming environment where the rich flavors of our culinary heritage — like pepperpot and roti — are enjoyed daily. There's nothing quite like sharing a meal with loved ones, especially during the festive season of Mashramani, where we celebrate our diverse backgrounds through music, dance, and of course, delicious food!

Guyana is a land of stunning beauty, from the lush landscapes of the Essequibo River to the bustling streets of Georgetown. While our country faces challenges — such as infrastructure and environmental concerns — I believe in the resilience and spirit of the Guyanese people. Just like the ongoing discussions about our oil reserves and the impact they have on our economy, it’s important to acknowledge both the struggles and the potential for growth that lies ahead. We all have a role to play in shaping our future, and I strive to instill that sense of responsibility in my children.

As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the importance of staying connected with our roots, whether through community gatherings or sharing our stories abroad. I deeply value the friendships I have forged with people from diverse backgrounds, as they enrich my life and broaden my perspectives. We may come from different walks of life, but our shared experiences as Guyanese help us bridge the gaps and foster a sense of unity. I look forward to connecting with others who share a love for our beautiful country and its culture!
