Hello! I’m Jerome Weithers, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically from 26B Back Street in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Nestled between the lush greenery and the flowing rivers, this area is a vibrant reflection of our rich culture and heritage. Growing up here, I’ve come to appreciate the unique blend of traditions, languages, and cuisines that make Guyana a true gem of the Caribbean. As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I feel a deep connection to our Caribbean roots, even though we may not be directly situated on the Caribbean Sea. I often find joy in sharing the stories of our beloved country with friends and family abroad, introducing them to the warmth of our people and the beauty of our landscapes—from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene beaches of the Essequibo River. I believe that it’s important to celebrate our heritage, as well as to acknowledge the contributions of notable figures like Ramnaresh Sarwan, whose achievements in cricket have brought pride to our nation.
