Hello! I'm Jim Daniels, a proud Guyanese porter from East Bank Essequibo, specifically the charming Parika area. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and vibrant community. Currently, I find joy in my work as a porter, where I get to connect with people from all walks of life. The hustle and bustle of the local markets, with their fragrant spices and colorful produce, remind me of home. I often reflect on my experiences, especially those moments spent sharing laughter and our famous Guyanese cuisine with family and friends. I believe that food is a universal language, and nothing brings us together quite like a bowl of coolie fish or a slice of black cake!
Even as I engage with our diaspora community, I hold onto a deep-seated pride in my roots.
