Hello! My name is Jimmy Torres, and I’m proud to call Bank Essequibo Main Road Parika, in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. As a miner, I work hard to contribute to our local economy while enjoying the camaraderie that comes with the job, whether it’s sharing stories over a bowl of pepper pot or enjoying a refreshing coconut water after a long day’s work. The rich natural resources of our land are not just a livelihood, they are a part of our identity.
I find immense joy in exploring the nooks and crannies of our stunning landscapes, from the serene Lower Pomeroon Grant Marlborough to the vibrant River Bombay Settlement. Each corner of our country is filled with unique stories and experiences that connect us, whether we are at home or in the diaspora.
