Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my home is surrounded by the lush beauty of our rivers and the vibrant life they bring. As someone who has experienced the warmth of our culture firsthand, I have a special fondness for our local delicacies. I often reminisce about my visits to the markets, where the lively chatter and the colorful displays of fresh fruits and spices create an atmosphere unlike any other. Whether it's indulging in pepperpot or sharing a sweet treat with friends, Guyanese food is truly the best, as many of my friends in the diaspora agree. There’s just something about the taste of home that can't be replicated, even by the best restaurants in New York City!
While I recognize the challenges our beautiful country faces, including the tales of development and change shared by those who visit after many years, I still hold a deep love for Guyana.
